在日米空軍 嘉手納基地は令和8（2026）年3月5日（木）、作戦即応訓練の実施予定を公表した。以下、メディア向けに配布されたプレスリリースを転載する。

嘉手納基地、作戦即応訓練を実施へ（仮訳）

　嘉手納基地：嘉手納基地で定期的に行われている運用即応訓練が、3月9日から13日まで実施される予定です。

　これは自由で開かれたインド太平洋の安定と安全を確実なものにするため、米国と日本、及び他のパートナー国との同盟を支援する嘉手納基地の任務遂行能力を査定する訓練です。

　基地の要員は、技能の向上と基地としての運用即応態勢を高めるために、部隊派遣を想定した諸手続きに加え、地上及び航空訓練活動を行います。

　訓練中は、サイレン音、拡声器放送、模擬爆発装置（GBS）及び発煙装置等が使用される可能性はありますが、午後10時～午前6時の間の使用は予定されていません。この時間帯に航空訓練の実施は予定されていませんが、運用支援のための飛行が行われる場合があります。

　この訓練は、地元への影響に配慮すると同時に、日本の防衛に資する基地の継続的な能力を確保し、この地域における同盟国およびパートナー国との安全保障上の責務を果たすことを目的にしています。

Kadena to conduct operational readiness training （本文）

KADENA AIR BASE, JAPAN – Kadena Air Base will conduct a routine operational readiness training exercise, Mar 9-13, 2026.

The training is designed to evaluate the base’s ability to fulfill its mission in support of the U.S. alliance with Japan and other partner nations, ensuring the stability and security of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

During the training, Kadena members will practice mobilization procedures and conduct ground and aerial training activities to hone technical skills and enhance the base’s operational readiness.

Sirens, speakers, ground burst simulators and smoke canisters may be used during the training but are not scheduled for use between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Japan Standard Time. Aerial training will not be conducted during this timeframe; however, flights supporting operational tasking may occur during this period.

This exercise is designed to balance local community impacts while ensuring the base’s continued ability to defend Japan and uphold our treaty obligations alongside our allies and partners in the region.
